Seminar on Innovative Justice

On June 15, 2023, with the cooperation of the TSU Faculty of Law and USAID Rule of Law Program, a seminar was held on innovative justice.

 

The workshop was moderated by Dr. Tim Bunjevac, Rule of Law Program advisor on community Engagement from Australia. Dr. Tim Bunjevac is an award-winning court administration expert with extensive practical experience at the industry level, as well as internationally-cited research on issues of court governance, people-centered justice, and judicial administration. He has 20 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, ministerial advisor, and court system consultant.

 

The seminar was attended by students of the Faculty of Law, representatives of the administration and the academic community - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law - Assistant Professor Giorgi Dgebuadze; Invited lecturer, PhD Candidate of law - Marika Turava; Head specialist at the Department of Internationalisation and Academic Research, PhD Candidate of law - Irakli Leonidze; Representative of the Dean’s Office of the TSU Faculty of Law - Mariam Khuroshvili; USAID Rule of Law Program Community Engagement Coordinator - Mariam Gobronidze.

 

Tim Bunjevac introduced to the audience extensive practical experience related to international standards of court administration, people-centered justice, and court-community engagement.

 

At the end of the seminar, the participants discussed Georgian and foreign experiences. Also, following the seminar, the organizers met to discuss future cooperation regarding the implementation of the summer school, teaching course, and scientific projects.
